Review/Swatches: BOURJOIS PARIS Little Round Pots of Parisian Charm

I was browsing my local Priceline and stumbled upon this set individual eyeshadows by BOURJOIS. Individually they are $20 but all 3 was $25.

All these eyeshadows are mineral eyeshadows with a pearlescent finish. The set comes in a chocolate brown (74),  champagne beige (08) and pearly white (90). Each can be used individually or combined together to do a nice nude look. The colours in set son't have chunky glitter which I like. I especially like the white eyeshadow as it can be used as a highlighter. These are so smooth, blendable and well pigmented.

Swatches on each finger
L-R: 74, 08, 90.

Blended out

Blended out but more and on my paler arm

Pros:
Smooth
Blendable
Pigmented
Each pot has a lot of product

Cons:
More expensive compared to other drug store products
Bulky container
Weird placement of applicator

MAC haul from target - update

I have some good news for my fellow Aussie beauty junkies. Target now has MAC make up at comparable prices to America. These were released last Thursday, 9th August. I managed to pick up some items before they were all snatched up.
L-R: Eyeshadow in Rule ($19), Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NC20 ($29.95), Sheertone Blush in Pink Swoon and Breath of Plum ($24 each).

Not too long ago I made a post about MAC being available at Target. However, it has come to my attention that these products may be slightly different to the ones available at MAC counters. Initially when I brought these home, I did a quick swatch of each product and they were a bit chalky and not very pigmented. I've not bought MAC powder based makeup before, only lipsticks from their counters while holidaying overseas, therefore it would be hard to compare with their legitimate counterparts. However, compared to my NARS blush, the quality of the MAC from Target is no where near my NARS blush. I'll be returning the blushes and eyeshadow but not the foundation because I lost the receipt for that transaction. Usually I do my research before buying but I guess the prices and the fact that it was stocked in Target, a large 'trustworthy' company, got me too excited.

Just wanted to thank Denise for alerting and confirming my suspicions =)

UPDATE!!
Products were confirmed fake. Lucky I've refunded mine.

Update and Haul

A week ago I went to the Philippines and Hong Kong. Christmas in these Asian countries just feel more like Christmas because of the ways they decorate their shopping centres and tourist attractions. I will break my trip into several posts just to keep the posts short and sweet. For the first post about my holidays I will do a beauty haul. I got everything from SaSa, Bonjour or Colourmix. These are all beauty stockists in Hong Kong with products arranging from drug store brands to high end brands. I found that some SaSas will stock a certain brand while some others didn't.
I got mix of nail polish, a Kiss Me eyelash serum, Shiseido Tsubaki hair treatment waters (really love using theses), mixed eyeliners, Kanebo KATE eyeshadow palettes, hair masks from Kao ESSENTIAL, mascara, BB cream, MAC lipstick (in Russian Red and Creme D Nude), Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek in the orange shade, sunscreen, a box of My Beauty Diary face masks and a ZA two way face palette. Just stocking up on my favourite items and trying some new items that I can't get/overpriced online or not available in Australia.

The Hello Kitty nail polish is recommended for gradient nails and the Marcia and sasatinnie polish were 2 for $10 HKD.

I love the ESSENTIAL hair masks, I'm using the orange packaged one now but I prefer the Nuance Airy line. I use Tsubaki water to maintain the moisture levels in my hair.

KATE palettes, the pigmentation in these are really good! I will do a detailed review on these soon and for some other product I've bought.

Hope everyone is beating the Christmas rush and buying their presents early! Mine is all bought and wrapped. Hate finding car park space during these times.

Canmake Gradation Wink Review

Canmake released some new eyeshadows not long ago called Gradation Wink. It's meant to be really easy to use simply by dragging your finger across it and transferring it to your lids. They have a pearly iridescent finish with glitter added. There are 4 palettes to choose from.
I stole this off the english Canmake Site =P
Apply in an instant using your fingertips, making it simple to create natural-looking eye make-up with a subtle graduation of shade ☆

A combination of three must-have shades for the perfect color gradation!
Just by applying the three shades as they are, you can achieve a perfectly well-defined gaze with depth!
● High-color: Creates a shade the same color as it appears in the palette with just one application ☆
The moist powder containing squalane (moisturizing agent) clings to your lids, making the color last longer! It won’t dull, either!
● Sheen & lamé: Features a soft texture like satin, pearl particles for luster and twinkling lamé particles. For an elegant, beautiful finish ☆

I got 2 of the palettes. The left is Strawberry Tart and the right is Chocolate Millefeuille.
Strawberry Tart

Chocolate Millefeuille

These palettes are really nice and the colour pay-off is not too bold - so it's wearble. However, it has too much glitter for my liking so it would be a suitable palette for night time use - that's just my preference. But the colours can be used individually as well which makes these palettes very practical. the centre colours are very good to use by themselves.

When I swiped these on my eyelid the line colour which is the bottom one doesn't show up too much - maybe that might just be my eyelid but a small eyeshadow brush can be used to correct this.

Pros: Good pigmentation
smooth and blendable
easy to use
convienent packaging
affordable

Cons: hard to get outside asia
too much glitter
needs extra layering to achieve darker colours if you use just a single finger swipe
the line colour is hard to apply if you use the swipe method

Enter My Giveaway!! Simply follow ^_^

Today I went to the airport to pick my friend up who went to Japan...EPIC-EST FAIL! I was a tad late but he didn't wait =( also he had no phone and my phone battery eventually died. So for over 2 hours I drove around and walked around the airport searching for him...then I gave up and rushed home. I charged my phone and immediately called his home...phew...he got home safe...POINT...make sure things are well organised and be prepared for "what ifs" when you go pick up a friend from the airport when their phone is broken T_T

But anyways...he got me lots of Canmake goodies ^_^ and 2 of my favourite magazines...ViVi and CanCam!! CanCam is my style...very soft and elegant fashion. I love the make-up in both ViVi and CanCam because they aren't as over the top as Ranzuki and Popteen. But he got me Popteen too...just that he was over the weight limit and needed to post it.
